We have a tradition

Each year we get a special Christmas tree decoration made, to hang on the tree (Which is not yet up)

The image on the decoration is of my two girls.

Sometimes the picture is specially staged, at other times it is caught more naturally in the course of the year.

This year I needed a staged one.

The first offering, from the slightly unwilling teenagers, showed them both giving me the bird!

I just took it, mocked up the decoration and gave them the choice to go with it, or provide a more pleasant contribution.

They gave me another picture.

I used the new one, though it did cross my mind that the first picture may have better captured their current characters!

I hope, when they look back in the future, that they appreciate the choice, especially if they have children of their own.
