About Ruth

My Story
Originally from the UK I am now a true Kiwi. We moved here to push ourselves, to try new things and ultimately to raise our children from toddlers to young adults in place of natural beauty.
Living in a new place requires you to form connections, gain new insights on how things are done, learn new cultures. Raising children forces you to learn more about yourself and how you react to others. As a facilitator I got to learn more on topics such as conflict management, communication, creativity, circles of control etc. I have never stopped learning.
Working in the disability field was an honour, I got to meet parents who were coping with challenges most never face. Their level of resilience, positivity and 'life is there to be lived' attitude was inspirational, not by choice, but by necessity. As one once said, "I didn't choose this, I didn't want this, but now I have it, I don't want to lose it." When the choice is to change, or give up, these families choose change.
They say you have to go through at least one of life's big challenges to learn more about yourself. Be it a breakup, loss of a loved one, or redundancy and I think there is some truth in this.
You learn that life goes on, you learn that you have a choice, and you get to meet some wonderful people.
I value my family, education and professionalism, and truly believe that by sharing experiences we can create something greater than the sum of its parts.
