Today is the anniversary of the day when poor old Pluto was demoted to a dwarf planet, rather than one of the big guns.

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) currently recognizes two other dwarf planets, Eris and Ceres.

I’d never heard of them.

I felt a little like Pluto after being made redundant again, I felt left out and unappreciated, but now I realise that even though it has taken a while to enter the workforce once again, I had not been forgotten.

Unlike Eris and Ceres I stayed connected with past colleagues and friends and was able to gain support through social media channels.

For all those who are currently still looking, be Pluto, make sure your name is not forgotten, you are more than your job title.
