Yellow car!

In New Zealand this was a game we used to play.

I have heard that some people’s rules are a little painful, but ours were less physical.

I was on a long journey with my eldest (23) and pulled out a slight variation on the old game of I spy.

We were both passengers and there wasn’t much to do, so I decided to activate my RAS (Reticular Activating System). A part of your brain which likes to help you to focus on what’s important to you.

It’s that part of your brain which makes you see adverts, or people using products you just bought (It’s not just AI algorithms…) to support the great choice you made.

It works just as well at work. If you are clear about the problem you are facing then your RAS will help you to spot solutions.

We ended up looking for all sorts of strange things and spotting stranger ones.

The journey went more quickly and there was the occasional debate as to whether there was actually enough pink on the passing truck to class it as pink.

Getting to know your brain better is a great way to spend the time.

As is looking out for those yellow cars.
