It can be hard to know how to show your family members appreciation.
Especially if they all have a different love language.
We have a red plate (Check out the Parenting Place for more info on this) but I wanted something else, something a little easier to use at any time of day.
The opportunity arose to meet this need earlier this week when my youngest requested to go to Splashy's, a local paint your own pottery place, to make a plate for her friend.
While we were there I decided to make myself a mug. A made it mug!
I chose to use the words 'You have made the day...' as I felt it provided some scope for a range of endings, which I placed on the back to give the person using the mug words to choose.
My kids helped come up with these words and I am hoping that when its all fired and ready to go, it will be well used, by anyone who wants to.
I feel this shows love in all the different languages.
Words of affirmation - 'You have made the day special, thanks'
Gifts - 'Here, have a drink as thanks for your help'
Acts of service -'I could tell that you needed a drink, thanks for your hard work'
Quality time - 'I though you might like to join me for a drink'
Physical touch - 'Lets cuddle up and have a drink'
What's your families special way to say thanks?
